Her husband handed her a snake in her dream
In my dream, my husband handed me a snake. We were standing in our kitchen, the way we do most evenings, and he was smiling. He placed it in my open hands like a gift. It was black, cool and heavy, and it didn't move. I told him I didn't want it. I tried to set it down on the counter, but when I lifted my hands, it was still there, coiled around my wrist. I looked up to ask him why. He was gone. The kitchen was empty, the lights were on, and his coffee cup was still warm on the table. The snake slowly raised its head and looked at me. I opened my hands and let it go. Then I woke up.
