If A Dream Needs Your Fear To Work, It Is Not From God

The dream that you had last night, the night before, last week, last month, last year, where did it come from? I wanna help you to identify the three sources where your dreams come from and what to do. Now, I tell people this all the time, do not ignore your dreams, and as you're going to learn in a minute, there's several key things, four questions that you need to answer every time that you have a dream so that you can be able to interpret it, to know exactly what you need to do, the things that are coming, the dangers, the alerts, the opportunities, and all those things. So let's take a look at this. Where did it come from? I want to help identify three sources, three signatures and how to tell those things apart. Now, not every dream is a message, There are times when you're gonna have a dream where maybe it's something you just ate, you're going through some challenges in life, your your your life, something is happening in your waking life that is causing you to have those dreams. Discernment starts with knowledge where a dream come from. So you need to be able to understand where the source of your dreams are coming from. First John four one says this, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirit to see whether they are from God. And I think this is one of the key things, every time that you get a dream, you must be able to test whether that dream is from one of the sources that I'm going to mention. Now, we have a lot of people today that would say things like, you know, I had this dream that I went to so and so place, I've sent this, I've been to there, I've gone all these places. Now, not all those dreams are from the Lord, not all those dreams are biblical. Now, I'm not saying that people don't get dreams, you know, spiritual encounters, I've had, you know, multiple myself, but I wanna help you to identify as you're listening people talking about all these dreams that they have, maybe you dream a lot, and you're trying to figure out what exactly do I do with this dream. So first, so you sort the dream first and then you interpret second. Now, sometimes you have to treat every dream, yeah, like, don't treat every dream as a prophecy, you know, sometimes you're interpreting everything, you're exhausted and afraid, you're not really sure, so you think it's some type of a message, when it's really not. So the key thing that you want to do is, you want to be able to sort first, interpret second, obey what is clear. So you want to be able to know what the dream is about, you want to interpret it, and then you want to obey the message that you're getting from that dream. Now, the three sources and then one test, there are multiple sources where a dream come from. The first source that it comes from is from God. When a dream comes from God, it comes with peace, clarity, alignment with scripture, and it it stays with you. I've had so many prophetic dreams that when I get them, I know this are dreams from God because I remember vividly. There are dreams that I've had when I was, you know, seven years old that I vividly remember, I remember the colors, I remember the surroundings, I remember so many detail from that, and that is the primary way that you can often tell when you get a dream from the Lord, because years later, sometimes decades later, you can still remember those same dream. Now, the second place that a dream come from is from your soul, you know, processing the day, your fears, your desires. So this is what I call a soulless dream. So first from God, second from your soul, your desires, your fears, your concern, maybe you're going through some challenging things in life right now and you're really not sure what's what's to come. There's a certain level of the unknown that you don't know and that concerns you. Maybe you just lost a job, maybe you're looking to go through a transition, maybe something is happening in your waking life that concerns you. Oftentimes, you're gonna dream a lot about those things, and when you dream about those things, you won't remember those dreams, you're not going to remember the specific detail about those dreams. Now, the third source that a dream comes from, a dream comes from the enemy. This is often with fear, confusion, accusation, and urgency for you to act now. When you get dreams that are demonic, right, when you get dreams that are evil from the end when that is the source, there is a certain level of fear that you have. Maybe you've had a dream now, I'm not saying all the time it's like this, but for the purpose of this particular session, you fear and there's so much confusion and the bible tells us that God is not the author of confusion. So when you get dreams, recurring dreams, and you're always confused, you want to go back and assess that dream because oftentimes that is going to be from the enemy and there's certain dreams that come with such urgency that you got to do something, but you don't feel comfortable in your heart. It's it's like you have to do something now, make a decision now, you have to act right now, but you don't have that peace, you don't have that rest, there's something about that decision that you wanna make that you don't feel comfortable with, but then you're like, oh, maybe maybe I'll just do it. And then the test, I wanna give you four questions, there are four questions that you need to ask yourself and you need to answer whenever you have dreams, so you can be able to better understand it, interpret it, and take the necessary actions. So let's go, the first one is did this dream leave you at peace even if it was heavy? Now God convicts, he doesn't condemn. So when you get a dream that is from God, God is going to convict you, he's not going to condemn you. Maybe you did something wrong, maybe you said something wrong, you feel that guilt, you feel that, you know, maybe I shouldn't have said that, shouldn't have did this, but it's not condemnation, that is God just saying, you have to make some adjustments. His signature is clarity, it lines up with scripture, it names one specific thing, it gives you somewhere to go and it is still with you three days later. Condemnation on the other hand names you instead of the thing and it leaves you nowhere. Heaven is not the same as dark. Just because you feel heaven doesn't mean it's the same thing as dark and that is the difference because God is always going to give you clarity with that. We throw out God's correction because it did not feel comfortable, sometimes this doesn't feel right, so we throw it out. If it names one thing and gives you a way forward, that's God. If it names you and leave you nowhere, it is not from the Lord, because when you're having dreams, God is always going to give you the next step. He's not going to show you the entire picture, but he will always show you at least the next step what's to come, introduce you to a person, get you connected with the right group, whether it's whatever direction that you're going, he's always going to make a way for you to connect with the right people. Romans eight and one, therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans eight and one. The next question you wanna ask is what were you thinking before you slept? Now, when you get a dream, oftentimes people are busy doing different things, going different places, maybe you had a long day, maybe you probably just watched something you shouldn't have watched, what were you thinking about? Maybe you've been burdened by something throughout the night, you've been worried about something, something has been on your mind, and as a result you're going to have a soulless dream, a soulless dream is not a failure, it's not a failure, your mind fails, your mind files the day while you sleep, in other words, filing system. So as you're sleeping, your mind files all the different aspects of your day, the argument replays, the deadline becomes a chase, the thing you want shows fulfilled, the thing you dressed up low, so the dreams are formed about you, alright, the dreams, they're information about you, not a message and not an attack, you do not rebuke your own nervous system. This doesn't mean that it's the enemy trying to do something, it just means that you have a lot in your mind. When you have a soulless dream, you're subburdened by something, something is worrying you, you're concerned about something, this is not the time to go, I rebuke this and No, no, you don't do that. That is when I'm gonna show you in a minute, how do you deal with a soulless dream, because you cannot rebuke your own self, it doesn't work that way. We wage war on a dream, on our own week, one week wrote, some dreams don't need interpreting, they need a lighter week. Ecclesiastes five and three, a dream comes when there are many cares. When you're having a soul's dream, one of the things that you have to do is you have to make some adjustments in your day, make some adjustments in your week, make some adjustments with how you're planning, make some adjustments with what you're doing because you had a really you had a really heavy week and now it is time for you to definitely go ahead and make some adjustments. The next question, did it make you afraid or act fast? False urgency is the tell. You have a dream that it wants you to act fast but you don't feel comfortable, it's pushing you to do something but your your spirit is like, I don't think this is right, I I don't know what it is, but I don't want to do this yet because I know that this particular thing is not the right thing to do, and you feel this forced urgency, but yeah, you have this uneasiness about it. Now, forced signatures, fear that lingers, confusion that multiply questions, accusations against you or someone you love, and pressure to act immediately. Now, when God gives a dream, God give direction, he rarely gives panic with a deadline. Rejected is the simple way, name it, hand it to Jesus, and go back to sleep. When you have dreams that force you to do things you feel uneasy about, say, Lord, I thank you for this dream, father, I give this back to you, if this is from you, bring clarity, because God is always going to give you clarity when you have dreams that concerns you, that you don't know what to do next. Again, it's not the author of confusion. We make the biggest decisions of our lives at four in the morning. Anything that needs your fear to work isn't from God. Name it, hand it over and go back to sleep. John ten ten, the thief come but to steal and to kill and destroy, I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. Now number four, next question you want to ask is, would you be willing to wait a week before acting on a dream? This is vital, this is critical. Would you be willing to wait a week before acting on that dream? Sometimes you get dreams with such urgency, but I will tell people, you wanna first pray and you wanna pause, you don't wanna just jump right into something, because again, God doesn't want you to be confused. So maybe sometimes you have to just wait a few days, like they say, you know, if you're not really sure about something, just sleep on it, you know, that's the best way for you to make sure that you're not you're not going in the wrong direction, just sleep on it, and sometimes people are not willing to sleep on something and when you sleep on it, then you get that clarity. Run all four every single time. So does it align with scripture? Does it require fear to work? Does it produce peace? Does it still stand after time? So you want to go through all those things. Anything that passes all four, take to one mature believer, you can you can act on it. Counsel is not doubt, it is protection. When you have dreams you don't understand, you want to make sure that you go to someone that understands dreams and they can be able to help you to give a counsel. It doesn't mean that you don't know anything, it means that you just want to be protected and make sure that you're not just acting out of fear. A dream from God will survive a weak, a bible, and a wise friend, so you want to make sure. Proverbs fifteen twenty two, plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advices they succeed. Now this is a short prayer that I want you to pray with me, Father, teach me to tell your voice from my own and from the enemies. Give me the patience to test things instead of reacting to them. Take back every decision I made out of fear at three in the morning. Speak Lord, I am learning how to listen properly. Now, what this leaves you with today, you can sort a dream before interpreting it, don't just rush, sort things through. You know the four tests that I just gave you, you ask all those four questions, every dream you had, run them through those questions.
