Heartbreak goes far beyond love. You can get your heart broken in friendships, in business, in ministry, with your health and with your finances. The problem is that most people go through the same cycle over and over, and every time it happens they have to start again from step one.

A heartbreak is a deep pain that comes when your expectations are shattered and your trust is betrayed. In this teaching I share seven ways to protect your heart so you stop repeating that cycle:

1. Guard your heart: set boundaries, know your values, listen to the Holy Spirit
2. Be discerning about your relationships: test every spirit, watch actions and not just words, seek godly counsel
3. Avoid unequal partnerships, in love, business and ministry
4. Recognize red flags early: address what does not add up, do not ignore God's promptings, do not settle
5. Do not idolize people or relationships: put God first and keep realistic expectations
6. Trust God for your security: seek wholeness in Christ, not validation from people
7. Forgive and let go, so bitterness does not take root
