What If God Already Answered Your Prayer? (And You Missed It)

If you're always waiting for something to happen, chances are you've probably already missed what was supposed to happen because it probably already happened, but you're probably looking at it and thinking from a different lens. And as we continue on day four of our one hundred days of purpose, I wanna help you to shift to understand that sometimes you're waiting for things to happen, you're waiting for God, you're waiting for this opportunity, you're waiting for this, but it it sounds like you've been waiting for a long time and nothing has happened. Well, things have already changed and you probably missed it. So I wanna help you to understand if you miss what happened, well, how do you get it back? So let's get started with day four. You know, when you wanna go to a a party sometimes, on an event, they'll send an invitation to you, right, someone can invite you somewhere. But what happen if someone sends you an invitation to an event that you're supposed to be at and you probably missed it, you didn't maybe they got lost, you know, in in your house somewhere or someone else, you know, put it somewhere. Well, the thing is that the invitation was already sent and just because you didn't see the invitation, open the invitation doesn't mean that it wasn't already sent. And sometimes you're waiting for things to manifest when there's been so many opportunities that came with the manifestations but you probably missed it, all of us have missed it, Tom. I know that there have been opportunities in past where I missed opportunity. What if the thing that you're waiting for already came? What if the thing that you've been desiring, that you've been hoping for, that that you've been planning for, what if already came but it just didn't come dressed the way that you want it to come? If you've never been in that situation before, you keep living, you're gonna realize that sometimes the things that we pray for, the things we hope for, the things we're anticipating, they come but they just don't come the way that we are we thought they were gonna come. You know, some of us are waiting at a door that God has already opened. The opportunity that you've been waiting for has already been opened and given to you, but you probably just missed it. So second Peter one and three, it says, his divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. What you're waiting for may have already happened but there is a way that you can reclaim that. So let's take a look at, you know, what you're waiting for. And we're living under this deception that, you know, you're waiting for this dramatic moment for like the burning bush experience where Moses had, like this undeniable confirmation. Sometimes you're waiting for this significant sign, you know, for the thunders and the voice to come from the clouds or something dramatic to happen and you're gonna say, wow, that is the sign that I've been looking for. That is what it looks like because oftentimes when you're hoping for something, when you're believing for something, when you want something to manifest, you have a picture in your mind of what that is supposed to be like. You have a visual in your head of how that's supposed to go, when all these things, but a lot of times it just doesn't work that way, this is the reality, the reality is this, what already happened? You recall before you ask, what's left is your eyes, what's left is for you to realize that, okay, it didn't go how I wanted it to go, it already happened now, I missed it, I need to be able to get back to it. Because perception matters, The lens at which you're looking at things matter. If you're expecting something to happen in one way, if it doesn't happen exactly how you envisioned it, you're gonna you're gonna reject that thing, all those things, those opportunities because it didn't come exactly how you pictured it. Now, are four calls that already issued, most people are waiting past all of them and I wanna help you to recognize what these four calls are. Number one, call to belong. Before you do anything for God, you were wanted by him. You know, you were created for a purpose, by a purposeful creator, by by design. It wasn't an accident that you were just, you know, just kind of sprung together and you just appeared out of nowhere. Right? So there is already a purpose, you're called to belong. Number two, you're called to become. Your character is the assignment underneath every other assignment. There are times when I've seen very talented people, gifted people, you could look at every industry and you're gonna realize that the most successful people in that industry are not always the most talented ones or the most gifted ones because there's a point in time where your character goes way beyond your gift. Your character goes beyond your your talents and your abilities. Your character will get you before great people before your talent does. Right? So while your talent and your gift can only push you but so far, When you get to that stage, if you don't have the character to be able to act like you've been there, you're going to lose that opportunity. And I think oftentimes people are hoping for opportunities. They're praying for opportunities, they're looking for opportunities, but one thing that you've missed and most people miss is they never prepare for that opportunity. They're hoping, man, if I can only make this amount of money, man, if I can only travel to this place, man, if I can only have this, if I can do this. They spent years thinking about it but never any time to develop a character. Now that's one of the reasons why that sometimes you see people get in the spotlight. You've seen this happen all the time in Hollywood, all these young talented kids making millions of dollars only to turn out a few years later, they've lost it all, they've gone to, you know, form some form of addiction, they're struggling with this, they're dealing with that because the pressure that came, they were never prepared for that type of pressure that come with that. You're called to serve where you are. The people already in front of you are not waiting out a waiting room. So wherever you you are, stop trying to look outside of it. Now, when I say wherever you are, this can be maybe you're part of a local church, you're you're you're working somewhere, you're part of our online group, you know, you're you're somewhere and oftentimes we think, man, if I can just go out, I can find better. All that mindset of the grass is greener on the other side, it never works in everything. And sometimes people think, you know, if I can just leave this job that I can't stand, if I can just leave this relationship, if I can lift this city, if I can lift this town, if I could even lift this country, I mean, I could go somewhere else, I could start over, I can do this, but one thing that life has taught us, if you don't deal with the issues where you are, they will follow you wherever you go and they're going to multiply significantly. So for example, if a person wants to leave a relationship because they're tired of it, they're sick of it, whatever it is, I mean, nothing solid just because they just want something different. Well, guess what, when you leave and you go somewhere else because you didn't deal with the root of the problem, you're gonna meet someone else no problem, but that person that you meet, they will give you 20 times more problems than what you left. You wish you could have stated what you had before. So you gotta be able to, you know, think through that. Number four, call to say yes to what you know. Obedience in the known unlocks the unknown. Obedience in what you're able to see. Obedience in your abilities to do something unlocks the unknown. So before you venture out into the unknown, have you been obedient to the things that you were designed to do? Have you been faithful to your assignment? From the day of inception to the day that you're introduced to this world, you're introduced to this world because the world is deficient in something that you carry, that's why you're here. The world needs something that only you can bring, they need a different perspective, they need a different way of thinking, they need a different push, they just need something and out of all the human beings that's ever been created, you are the only person that carry that thing that they need. You are the only person that have that thing that they need. So you have to be able to appreciate that and understand that and begin to accept and work in that. Do you believe God wanted you before he needed anything from you? You're called to belong. You've been treating your calling as a job to be assigned. It started as a relationship to be received. We rush to usefulness because being being one it feels too simple to be the point. You were called to him before you were ever called to a task and that is why having a connection or a relationship with the Lord matters because you belong to him first and foremost. He is your creator, he knows absolutely every single thing about you. John fifteen sixteen, you did not choose me but I chose you, then that's powerful. Who are you becoming while you wait? Called to become, you're asking what to do, God is often more interested in who you become, why you do it. Who you will become, it's all about becoming, it's not about the trials that you go through, I know that hurts, it's not about the painful experiences that you go through but it's who are you becoming in the midst of the frustration? Who are you becoming in the midst of the the weight? Why you're waiting for things to manifest in your life? Who are you becoming? There's some people that are frustrated, you have some people that are angry, some people that are bitter because they're going through that waiting period and they're waiting for something to manifest and whatever is happening is not happening as fast as they would like for that to happen. We treat character as preparation for the calling. Character is a large part of the calling. God wants to develop the character. The waiting season is not empty, it is the work. During those quiet hours, during those quiet times, that is part of the work. Second Corinthians three eighteen says, and we all who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, you are being transformed into his image. It's all about who you are becoming, who's already in front of you. That's who you call to serve. It's not always going out somewhere. Sometimes it's in your local church, sometimes it's in your local community, sometimes it's in your school, sometimes it's in your organization, sometimes it's even in a job that you can't stand. You're praying for a platform while the people at your table, your job and your street go unserved. There's opportunity to always serve. You know, you assume the calling starts when the sudden improve, when things change, when you move to a new city then, you know, that's when your calling starts. It usually starts where you already stand, where you already are, what you're already doing. Your current room is not a waiting room, it's the first assignment. So while you're waiting, Luke sixteen ten says this, whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much. So while you're awaiting, your character is being developed. You know, this country, we don't like discipline. We don't like anything that's gonna push us out out of the comfort zone. We wanna stay within that comfort zone, we wanna stay so, you know, we don't change, you know, we fight change until we have we're forced to change and that is not a good place to be. When you fight change until you're forced to change, at that point, life has already beaten you down so much and sometimes not everybody is able to recover from that. What do you already know you're supposed to do? You're called to say yes to what you know. Even if you don't know everything, you start with what you know there's something you already know to do. You've known for months. That's the call you're actually stalling on, you know, you feel it in your heart that you know, maybe I'm supposed to be doing this, I'm supposed to be doing that, but you never take the steps to do that. You know, you ask for new direction while ignoring the last direction that we're given. You wanna start something new but you did not finish the last assignment that you were on, it doesn't work that way. God rarely gives the next instructions until the last one has been obeyed. So if you don't obey the last instruction God gave you, then chances are, you know, you gotta do it over again. John thirteen seventeen, now that you know these things, you'll be blessed if you do them. The call was not withholding withheld from you, the yes was withheld from him. That's uncomfortable. That's also good news because a yes is some is something you can give today. Now let's take a look at what a yes actually looks like. A yes is smaller than you think and heavier than it looks This week, not someday. So there are a few things you got to understand. Name the thing you already know. Say it out loud. What's that one thing you got to work on? What's that one thing that you know that you're supposed to do? Do it before you feel ready. Don't wait until everything is perfect, know, got to wait until all these things are good. Do it before, you feel ready. Tell someone a yes spoken to another person becomes real. Take action into that thing. Don't wait until, oh, I got to wait for the perfect moment because those perfect moment never happen and that's something that you have to get used to. So just kind of overview the cause you already have, you were called to him first, who you're becoming is the assignment, the room you're in is the first place, your first post, your first station, obey the last thing you heard. Don't try to start something new if you did not complete the last assignment.
